Give A Goat

Grooming for Good

At La Cabra Nubia, we believe that taking care of your beard is about more than just looking good—it's about doing good. Our brand's name, which translates to The Nubian Goat, is a direct homage to an incredible act of charity that transforms lives for families in need around the world.
It’s the spirit of this simple, life-changing gift that drives our commitment to quality, community, and global change.

Where Our Name Comes From: A Gift of Life

The Nubian Goat is an adaptable, high-milk-producing breed, renowned for its resilience and the rich milk it provides. For poor rural families globally, receiving a healthy goat is not just receiving an animal—it's receiving a pathway out of poverty, providing sustainable nourishment and income.
Milk & Nutrition: The goat provides a reliable source of nutritious milk for the family.
Income: Extra milk and offspring can be sold, creating a steady, sustainable source of income.
Passing on the Gift: The fundamental principle of this giving model is that the first female offspring of the goat is "Passed on the Gift" to another family in need, creating a ripple effect of empowerment that strengthens the entire community.
This concept of giving a lasting, sustainable gift is the soul of La Cabra Nubia. Just as a goat helps an entire family prosper, we aim to use our success to help lift up communities.

Who is Life Ansanm?

Life Ansanm (Creole for "Life Together") is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the community of Cap Rouge, Haiti. Their philosophy is built on the idea of partnership rather than just charity—working alongside the local community to create sustainable, long-term change.
Their core work focuses on four pillars:
  • Healthcare: They operate a vital hospital and the Kay Akouchman (Birthing Center), providing 24/7 maternal care, vaccinations, and emergency medical services to thousands of people who previously had no access to care.
  • Education: They provide scholarships and vocational training to unlock opportunities for the next generation.
  • Job Creation: By investing in local projects, they help create a sustainable economy within the village.
  • Family Care: They focus on building strong families through relationship-based outreach and support systems.

Ansanm's Livestock Program

In Haiti, a goat is often described as a "living savings account." Life Ansanm’s program is designed to provide families with more than just a meal—it provides a future.
  • Sustainability: When a family receives a goat, they are trained on how to care for it. As the goat produces offspring, the family can sell the kids to pay for school fees, medical bills, or home repairs.
  • Nutrition: Goats provide essential protein and milk for children, which is critical in a region where malnutrition is a constant threat.
  • The "Pass on the Gift" Model: Many of these programs follow a beautiful cycle: the first female kid born to a gifted goat is often given to another family in need, ensuring that one donation ripples through the entire community.

By pledging a portion of our sales to Ansanm's Livestock Program, La Cabra Nubia is directly helping to restock these "savings accounts" for families in Cap Rouge. It turns a simple purchase of beard butter and essential oils into an act of global solidarity.
